ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT |
EDUCATION |
In view of the fact that education is the bedrock of development in any given society, the present administration attaches much importance to it and was able to record the following achievements:
Employment of two hundred and fifty (250) teachers tagged “Olorunda / Balogun Corps” on temporary basis to teach in primary and secondary schools in the Local Government area.
Provision of new 18-Seater bus for the newly employed teachers to ease transportation problem for those posted to the rural areas.
Purchase and distribution of teaching instructional materials like exercise books, chalks and textbooks to schools in the Local Government area.
Establishment of community primary school at Oke-Agunbelewo and comprehensive secondary school at Ota-Efun in Osogbo to enhance enrolment of pupils into the academic institutions.
Financial assistance towards building of the Nigeria Union of Teachers Hall (NUT) in Olorunda Local Government area.
Regular yearly payment of bursary to indigent students in higher institutions of learning including educational grants to those in the Nigerian Law School.
Construction of twenty-five (25) blocks of three (3) classrooms, each in all primary and secondary schools in the Local Government area.
Financial assistance to the Osogbo Progressive Union (OPU) for the establishment of the Fountain University.
Celebration of Literacy Day 2005 in the Local Government area to create awareness for illiteracy eradication.

AGRICULTURE |
In its aim at ensuring food sufficiency for its citizenry, the Local Government has carried out a number of agricultural activities. They are:
Establishment of model farms to carry out the major sector of agricultural production. 50 acres of land was put into maize-cassava inter-cropping.
Involvement of youths in the Local Government area in agricultural production through the Osun State Agricultural Youth Empowerment Programme (OSSAYEP).
Boosting of mechanization services to farmers through provision of tractors for hiring altivation of a large area of land at Kelebe.
Purchase of several tones of various types of fertilizers, and sold to farmers at subsidised rates for their farming activities.
Distribution of farm tools like cutlasses, hoes, iron files and agro chemicals free of charge to encourage farmers in cultivation of lands.
Rendering of financial assistance to OSSAYEP and NDE agriculture trainees in the Local Government area.
Construction of maize crib to facilitate maize harvesting.
Sponsorship of seminars and workshop on various agricultural extension programmes for farmers in the Local Government area.
Prominent among these are:
(i) Sensitisation programme on bird flu (Avian influenza virus)
(ii) Safety methods of handling agrochemicals on farms.
(iii) Free vaccination programme for livestock.
(iv) Mobilisation of farmers to various national programmes on agricultural exhibition. i.e. World Food Day and National Cocoa Rebirth Programme.

HEALTH |
Since the inception of the present administration, the Local Government has, in no small way, addressed of the health-related in the Local Government area>.
The Local government had employed more staff into the Health Assistant, Health Attendant and Orderly cadres to boost the workforce in the Primary Health Care Department so as to make health care services more available and accessible to it teeming population. Presently, the number of staff in the Primary Health Care Department has increased from 116 in year 2004 to 204 by the end of year 2006.
Also, the administration constructed three additional maternity centres at Idi-Emi (Ward 10), Ile-Idande (Ward 1) and Enikan-Oyun (Ward 3) in the Local Government area.
In order to face the challenges of water-borne diseases, the present administration has made the provision of potable water its priority. One borehole was dug in each of the 11 wards of the Local Government area. It brought a drastic reduction in incidents of schistosomiasis.
. Purchase and distribution of beds and mattresses, crotches, clinical thermometers, forceps, BP apparatus, among others, to the maternity centres.
Purchase and distribution of several sanitary dustbins to all maternity centres, offices and schools.
De-worming of school pupils in all the primary schools in Olorunda Local Government area.
Purchase and distribution of head pans, shovel, rakes and wheelbarrows to Oleyo community for refuse clearing.
Funding of all immunization programmes in the Local Government.
Purchase of ambulance for the use of the medical department.
Sponsorship of regular programme on control of schistosomiasis in the Local Government area.
Clearing and collection of refuse in all the market places like Igbona, Sabo, Old garage, Oke-fia market and other areas in the Local Government.
Rendering of financial assistance to victims of flood disaster in the Local Government.
Monthly purchase and distribution of drugs to all health centres in the Local Government.
Visitation programme by our medical doctor to all health institutions.

Social And Community Development |
The Local Government has successfully recorded outstanding achievements in the area of social and community development. These are enumerated as follow:
Purchase and distribution of handsets, umbrellas, chairs and tables to youths in the Local Government area as part of the administration’s programme on poverty alleviation.
Employment of 200 youths into the service of the Local Government.
Purchase and donation of a motorcycle to Criminal Investigation Bureau at Dugbe.
Purchase and distribution of 24 motorcycles to youths in the Local Government area as part of the poverty alleviation programme.
Rendering of financial assistance to acid and fire victims.
Rendering of financial assistance to 3 Community Development Associations at Oba-Oke, Mogba and Akogun on construction of their town halls as self-help projects.
Purchase and donation of stoves, wheel chairs, mattresses to the aged and the less privileged in the Local Government area under the women development programme being run by the wife of the chairman.
Sponsorship of members of Osogbo Willington Sister Cities to Deleware in U.S.A including establishment and equipping of library in Osogbo.
Disbursement of annual grants to Community Development Associations to aid their self-help projects.
Distribution of 30 dozens of plastic chairs to the NURTW, RTEAN, Willington Sister Cities Club, Taxi Drivers Union and Okada Riders Association.
Donation of Christmas and Ileya gifts to Christian and Muslim leaders and other eminent citizens in the Local Government area.
Constitution and payment of allowances of board members numbering 530 to serve in various boards of the Local Government.
